Summer School students in grades 4th-8th will be participating in our Camp Invention program this year. This program engages students in science, technology, engineering and math. Through project based learning they will invent things with recyclable materials and transform broken items into something altogether new. We are asking that you look at the following lists and see if you have any of these items lying around that may be used to support our program.
The Newman-Crows Landing Unified School District is taking applications from prime contractors and subcontractors in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades for lease-leaseback projects, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20111.6. Applications may be secured at NCLUSD, 1162 Main Street, Newman, CA 95360 and www.nclusd.k12.ca.us. Deadline for submittal of applications is 4:00pm June 10, 2016.

Yolo 6th grader Harmony Fernandez & 7th grader Tiffany Hogue recently won 1st place in the Blockbuster category at the "Reel Life" film festival at the Modesto State Theater for their film titled "A Single Drop." The film festival is put on annually by the Region 6 After School Programs & SCOE. This year's theme was "Pay it forward." Watch the video here:
Individual student & parent academic meetings for all students leaving 10th grade, May 31st- June 10th, 8:00 am-4 pm. Appointments MUST be pre-scheduled and will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. Appointments will be thirty minutes long. Please call Melissa Doerksen, College and Career Counselor, at Orestimba High School to make an appointment.
Yolo and OHS will be hosting a Physical Night at OHS Gym on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 6:30-8:30PM. The cost will be $20.00 cash. The Physical Night is only open to potential OHS and Yolo athletes who will be entering grades 6-12 for the 2016/17 school year and who plan to tryout for a Yolo or OHS athletic team. Only District authorized physical forms will be accepted for completion by the physician. No other students or athletes will be accepted.
Summer school registration for students is now open. Students who need to retake a course required for graduation or for college eligibility can now apply. Students can pick up forms in the OHS front office or counseling office, or they can print the attached form and submit their completed form to the box located by the counseling office marked "Summer School." Applications are due prior to May 27, 2016
The Summer Food Service Program for Children provides nutritious meals at seven sites when school is out. Your child can continue to grow and learn during the summer and be nutritionally ready when school starts in the fall. Children may receive one breakfast and one lunch each serving day; all meals must be consumed on site, food may not be taken “to-go”.
