The Newman-Crows Landing Unified School District Bond Oversight Committee represents the community and has the responsibility of ensuring that allocations of funds provided by the passage of Measure R are expended as outlined in the measure. The 25 million dollar bond was issued to upgrade and renovate classrooms, necessary health and safety improvements, and construct a new school. The contractor for the new grade school is C.T. Brayton & Sons, Inc. Co.
The District received $10,393,000 from the sale of bonds in May of 2009 and $3,907,000 in June 2010.
